UFO? « Thread Started on Aug 6, 2009, 12:51am »
I'm a smoker. I smoke outside so not to offend my wife and stepson. About two months ago while out on my front porch smoking, I noticed lights in the Western sky. At first I thought it was an airplane, but as I watched, it didn't seem to be moving. I thought it must be headed straight for me and that was the reason it didn't seem to move. I thought little else about it and went back into the house.
About an hour or so later I went back out to smoke again. The lights I had seen earlier were still there. A little more to the left than before, but still in the same general area. This time I noticed the lights seemed to be tumbling. Like a ball rolling in the sky. The lights seemed to be red, blue and green but it was a good distance away and small, so I can't be sure of the colors. Anyway as I stood watching these lights, I noticed a movement to my upper left. I turned to look at this object and it was an airplane moving in the direction of the lights. I turned back to look at the lights and it was gone. I didn't take my eyes off of the lights for more than a few seconds, but when I looked again it was no where to be seen. The airplane that diverted my attention was turning toward South and quickly disappeared in the distance. As fast as the airplane was traveling, I suspect it was military. Too small and too fast for commercial aircraft.
I wish that I had not taken my eyes off the lights.

Hi paddlefoot! Very interesting observation. It makes me think of my experience with an UFO(?) It was back in 2003 or 2004. Then I lived in an apartment on the 6th floor. I´m too a smoker and I stood at an opened window and had a smoke. It was dark. Suddenly I saw a strange light, far away in the east, rising straight upwards in a very irregular way. It moved and stopped several times. Suddenly it moved very fast at my direction and then it was almost above me, I saw it looked just like a dish with a circular superstructure - a classic shape of a flying source! On the superstructure I saw several windows and faint blue lights was coming out from it. It disappeared above the building, out of my sight. The most remarkable was its speed....I´ve never seen something flying that fast! Two days later I read in the paper about strange flying lights above neighbouring country Denmark, wich was pretty near my whereabouts (I then lived almost at the border) It was also a lot of observations in U.K and I pilot claims he had been chased by an UFO.

Fred,
All I can say is WOW! I've seen other objects over the years that I thought "might" be a UFO, but nothing near what you described. Even this last observation, had the lights not disappeared so quickly I wouldn't have thought anymore about it.
I can't help but think how cool it would be to see something as you did.
With your experiences at the ghost house and now this sighting you've described, you're quickly becoming my hero.
