strange tapping « Thread Started on Nov 18, 2008, 11:16am »
Hey guys,
Just wanted to share with you a weird experience my sons and I just had. The boys were sitting on their bed laughing and playing, they hadn't been awake long. I told them to look out the window and see the snow (it snowed maybe a 1/2 an inch, but it's the first snow of the season here in Virginia so it was pretty exciting for them) They pulled back the curtain and we were all oohing and ahhing and then they pulled the curtain back over the window. As soon as they covered the window something lightly tapped on it! We immediately thought it was my nephew outside playing in the snow (he lives next door to us) so we pulled the curtain back again expecting him to be standing there. No one was there. We pulled the curtain closed again and again there was a light tapping sound from the window! I told the boys that Brandon(my nephew) must be scrunched up underneath the window sill trying to hide from us. So I opened the front door and no one was there and there wasn't any tracks in the snow! We have listened and listened but we have not heard the sound since. I went outside the window to try and recreate the sound and when I tapped very lightly the boys said it sounds exactly like what they heard. Any thoughts? Well I just wanted to share! Amy

Hi Amy,
I find your story to be interesting. I wonder what it was? Might it have been tree limbs or bushes hitting the glass? Or, maybe something inside of the curtains tapping on the glass?
Maybe, it was a spirit who likes you and wanted to get your attention. (Looks like it did.)

Hello Ron,
I went outside the window right after it happened and looked around. There is a large bush at the corner of the house but I checked and the branches still aren't long enough to reach the window. It hasn't happened since but we are still listening!

Itīs interesting Amyg. Iīve experienced a lot of tappings and sometimes loud bangings on the windows when Iīve visit Skillingmark mansion (the ghosthouse)

Hi Amy- I wonder if it is possible that the change in temp from the inside to the outside is causing the window to "pop"? Is it possible this is what you have heard?
hmmm.....In my house, at night, i hear weird tapping coming from the fridge. I noticed birds would fly into the gutter though, and i thought maybe it was the birds in the wall or structure or something. I probably sound really stupid if birds cant go into the structure of the house. xD. But when I told a friend of mine and she came over she said it sounded like fingernails tapping on the fridge door and she thought it i might have a night ghost. any thoughts?
Hi prue; Hard to say. Tapping sounds from a fridge is pretty common. Where were you when you heard the tappings? Was it the first time it happened? any other ghostly experiences in your home?
